Program Features
Story Sprouts Yoga provides story-based yoga programs for schools, libraries, and private events. Our programs cater to a variety of themes, age groups, and preferences. Our goal is to foster inclusivity and create a safe and supportive environment for all participants to practice. Our classes include engaging activities such as breathing exercises, stretching, puppetry, storytelling, music, games, and more...
Puppetry & Storytelling
Puppetry and storytelling are powerful tools that can greatly enhance the benefits of yoga by adding an element of imagination and creativity to the practice. We use puppets to demonstrate breathing exercises or act out yoga themed stories to make the practice more interactive and entertaining for children, helping them stay focused and interested throughout the session. By combining puppetry and storytelling with yoga, children are not only encouraged to move their bodies and practice mindfulness, but also to use their imaginations and express themselves creatively, fostering a holistic approach to self-love, confidence and personal growth.
Music
Every Story Sprouts Yoga Adventure features songs and music throughout the class. The rhythmic beats and soothing melodies of our songs help children to connect with their bodies and breath, making it easier for them to follow along with yoga postures and movements. Music also has the power to help children relax, focus, and let go of any stress or anxiety they may be feeling. Additionally, incorporating music into our classes makes the practice more playful and fun, encouraging children to stay present and fully participate in the practice.
Games
Games are a very important part of all of our yoga classes. By incorporating yoga themed games into each session, children are encouraged to move their bodies, develop balance and coordination, and improve their self-esteem and confidence, all while having tons of fun! Our games not only make the practice more dynamic and entertaining but also help children develop important physical, mental, and social skills that will benefit them both on and off the yoga mat.
